Terion® S uses reverse osmosis and continuous electrodeionization to produce high-purity deionized water. It removes dissolved solids and salt for pharmaceutical, microelectronics industry and industrial use.
Overview
In sectors where both cost reduction and deionized water quality are key to preventing scaling and corrosion of valuable assets, are turning to alternative water sources instead of potable water to avoid rising costs.
Its unique membrane degassing system guarantees ultrapure water meeting up-to-date industrial standards in the medical, pharmaceutical and cosmetics, microelectronics industry and hydrogen sectors, with conductivity less than 5µS/cm and optimum control of silicate content.
How does Terion S work?
In essence, Terion S is a water purification process that removes contaminants from feed water. During the process, water molecules are pushed through a semi-permeable membrane under pressure, which helps filter out impurities to leave clean, safe, high-purity deionized water with continuous electrodeionization.
Terion S utilizes these reverse osmosis membranes to remove over 99.5% of dissolved solids and salts, such as calcium bicarbonate and sodium chloride, from brackish and wastewater sources for industrial application usage such as boiler feed water treatment and/or laboratory.
Terion S is designed to produce deionized water up to 18 megaohms per centimetres (MΩ-cm) with flow rates ranging from 110 to 4,000 liters per hour (L/h).
Terion S is suitable for transportation as it is in a single skid, self-contained, unit including all instrumentation and control panels. It is available in seven models that all meet European regulations for laboratory and microelectronics applications as well as general industry. This allows for short lead, installation, and start-up times and reduced costs compared to others on the market.
It is fully digitally enabled using our Hubgrade™ digital solution. It has a touchscreen human-machine interface (HMI)/programmable logic controller (PLC) control panel that centralizes all operations and data for user-friendly remote monitoring and control.
Additional options include:
- Concentrate water pH probe
- CO2 membrane degasser – sweep mode
- CO2 membrane degasser – vacuum mode
- Witnessed factory acceptance tests (FAT) including wet tests

FAQ about Terion S
How does water quality impact production equipment?
Water quality is crucial for protecting sensitive equipment. Poor water quality with high dissolved solids can lead to scaling, corrosion and reduced efficiency in boilers for example. Using advanced purification methods like continuous electrodeionization and reverse osmosis ensures optimal performance and extends equipment lifespan.
What are the economic benefits of implementing advanced water purification systems in industrial settings?
Implementing advanced water purification systems, such as deionized water systems and membrane degassers, offers significant economic advantages. These include reduced maintenance costs, increased equipment longevity and improved energy efficiency. The combination of reverse osmosis and electrodeionization technologies can lead to substantial operational savings in industrial applications.
How does continuous electrodeionization (CEDI) technology improve boiler feed water quality compared to traditional methods?
Continuous electrodeionization technology provides superior boiler feed water quality by consistently removing dissolved solids without chemical regeneration. This advanced process ensures ultrapure water production, reduces operational costs, and maintains stable water quality for critical industrial applications. When combined with reverse osmosis, CEDI delivers reliable, high-purity water that meets strict requirements for boiler feed.
